How Handla handles personal data

1. Who is responsible for the data?

Kottegott AB, Swedish company registration number 559551-2046, is the controller for personal data in Handla. You can reach us at hej@kottegott.se.

2. What information do we process?

When you install the app and start using it, we do not handle any information at all. All information stays only on your device (phone, tablet, computer). If you choose to sign in with a kitchen key, we (Handla/Kottegott AB) may process information such as email address, phone number, account and session information, kitchen key, shopping lists, list settings, recipes, uploaded recipe images, and technical information needed for the app to work.

When you buy a kitchen key, we process purchase information such as the mobile number used for Swish, the email address used for delivery, order reference, payment status, and payment reference.

3. Why do we use the information?

We use information to create and manage an account or kitchen key, sync shopping lists between devices, process payments, deliver kitchen keys, provide support, troubleshoot technical problems, and protect the service from misuse.

The legal basis is mainly that the processing is necessary to provide the service or complete the purchase. Some information is also stored to comply with legal obligations, for example accounting rules. Technical security, troubleshooting, and support are based on our legitimate interest in operating a reliable and secure service.

4. Cookies and local storage

Handla uses cookies and local storage for things such as login, session status, app settings, sync, and offline functionality. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell information to advertising networks.

5. Who may receive the information?

We share information with suppliers needed to run the service, such as hosting, database, email, SMS, account/login, and payment via Swish and the banks' payment flow. Suppliers may only use the information to help us provide the service.

We may also disclose information if required by law, a government authority decision, or to handle a dispute.

6. How long do we keep the information?

Shopping lists, recipes, and settings are stored for as long as they are needed for you to use Handla with sync, or until the information is removed. Support matters are stored for as long as needed to help you and follow up on the issue. All email we receive is kept by default as history in our email inbox so that we can also understand any previous context if you contact us again. If you want us to delete all communication we have had, you can contact us at hej@kottegott.se and we will also delete the history.

Information related to purchases and accounting is stored according to accounting rules, normally for seven years after the end of the calendar year in which the financial year ended.

7. Your rights

You can request information about the personal data we process about you. You can also ask us to correct inaccurate information, delete information, restrict processing, or object to certain processing.

8. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy when the service, our ways of working, or legal requirements change. The latest version is always available on this page.
